Can You Get Rid of Warts with Duct Tape?

Before you perform any home wart removal using tape make sure you know what duct tape is? Go online and look at pictures of the various types of tape. Or if you are going to Home Depot look at the labbelling on the shelves.

While most warts are nothing more than harmless growths, many people would much rather not have them, and therefore often spend a lot of time and money to get rid of them. There are numerous wart removal options, from medical treatments, over the counter items, and of course, home remedies. One of the more common home remedies used in wart removal is duct tape.

I’m sure you probably think that I must be crazy telling you that duct tape can help you get rid of unwanted warts, but just keep reading. Almost everyone has duct tape somewhere around their home, so you don’t have to spend any extra money on a wart remedy, which is one reason why this is such an appealing treatment option. It is definitely more budget friendly to use duct tape than to pay a dermatologist for treatment, or purchase many over the counter products that might or might not work. In general, a good wart removal item that can be bought over the counter will cost at least $10, leaning more towards about $30. Why spend that type of money when you could use the duct tape that you have lying around the house already?

To get rid of warts, what you need to do is cut a piece of duct tape down to the correct size, and place it over the wart so that it is completely covered. You will leave this tape in place for at least six days, and then soak it in warm water to loosen up the tape so you can remove it. You may need to also use a pumice stone, to help break up the glue that is in the tape. If the wart is not completely gone, you may need to reapply the tape and leave it on for another six days. It may take three or four weeks for the wart to be completely removed using this method, but if you are patient and stick with it, it usually will work.

The same methods may not work the same way for everyone, so it is important to keep an open mind and realize that this may not work for you. Many doctors actually recommend this treatment to people who are looking to get rid of warts, particularly for young children. It is a painless, inexpensive way to get rid of a bothersome wart, which makes it ideal for youngsters of all ages.

If you are a natural skeptic of alternative remedies, this is one that you should try. You have nothing to lose, and there is really no way that it could damage or impact your health, so why not give it a try?

Another good thing about duct tape is the price. In a dollar store it will sell for 1.00. Duct tape can also be free if you use the duct tape of your neighbour.
